Finally we have what is the most rare yet best of all the ZOMBIE releases: the 2000 Comic Book Edition as released by Blackest Heart Media. This soundtrack CD came with the limited edition graphic novel adaptation of Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE written by Stephen Romano. The score has been remastered and is the best sounding of the bunch. There are also tracks of dialogue, radio spots, or sound effects from the movie (listed as "No Artist) and once again some rokOpera "tribute" tracks although ironically the one track that is "out of place" is the best (a cover version of Goblin's main theme to ALIEN CONTAMINATION aka CONNEXION).

As per my usual methods the CD discs were ripped with EAC to the FLAC format and I have included the EAC made LOG files and CUE Sheet files. I also include M3U PlayList files and some Artwork scans.

The files were created using 7-Zip and use the 7z compression format. I suggest using 7-Zip for extraction. Please note that 7-Zip is free software that is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Also note that the files are password protected and that this password is: terrorxpress

  5. Thank you very very much for that 3rd version(2000 comic book version) of Zombie! I have the other 2 versions, but they are incomplete, & the sound quality is not quite right. This one has everything, & the sound quality is great.

  7. This is a contender for the best single Fabio Frizzi/Lucio Fulci post I have ever feasted upon...you certainly know your Italo-Horror soundtracks!
I have the Cannibal Ferox Soundtrack with the rokOPERA additions and to be honest I was dreading this extra "contribution" until I heard it; gods do these guys know how to seamlessly blend their own material with Fabio Frizzi's to the extent it sounds so authentic and not something from a bunch of New York fans circa 1998.
Really looking forward to hearing the comic book edition from 2000....can you clear something up for me:
All the various Fabio Frizzi Zombie 2 soundtracks I have seen have been labelled Zombi 2 'Sequence 1-8' but the Frizzi titles from the 2000 Comic Book Edition by Blackest Heart Media all have his tracks from Zombie 2 individually named such as 'Eyeball' and 'Voodoo Rising' - do you think these are names that rokOPERA/BHM substituted for the "Sequence" way of naming the tracks or did Fabio Frizzi have a hand in naming them?

Once again, thanks for giving the best Fabio Frizzi in the blog universe, you are a star!

  8. That's a good question and I have to admit that I do not know the answer!

A friend of mine who knows a lot more about the Italian film score scene than I do once told me that a lot of times there is a "play list" that indicates what track goes where in the film and that this often does not have titles but will simply be "sequence one, sequence two" or even worse have some cryptic names (see the track list for the 2008 CD release of BUIO OMEGA). Sometimes no more information is given he said. Sometimes the composer does jot down actual names but when that isn't the case either they use the number system or the label makes up names.
